Advertising is great because it gives you the opportunity to be creative and come up with completely wacky ideas to help promote your product. I’m not entirely sure how creating a three minute epic movie about a Thai man from the ghetto who can’t pay his medical bills actually promotes the telecommunications industry but it’s certainly got people talking about it all over the world and by proxy that ensures that people are talking about the telecommunications provider – they’re called True Move.
Some websites/people are going as far as to say that it’s better than most of the movies that come out of Hollywood these days. I personally think that that is a fairly outrageous statement, but the advert is pretty epic, powerful and entertaining and certainly worth watching. The story isn’t really anything that original but the presentation and direction are top notch and really draw you in. If you’re a pussy then you’ll probably end up crying.
The message conveyed by the advert is slightly confusing ‘ giving is the best communication’ – as I doubt that they’re actually giving away their services for free, but if you don’t worry about that then it’s pretty easy to enjoy the advert for what it is.
