Earlier this week, Eni Aluko revealed she fled the UK due to Joey Barton’s abusive harassment campaign against her, and let’s just say Barton wasn’t sympathetic about this news at all.
He’s now essentially gone and called Eni Aluko a hypocrite, by sharing private DMs that Aluko sent to former Sheffield United and QPR goalkeeper Paddy Kenny, after he had mocked her Declan Rice transfer theory, which went as follows:
“I don’t think Mancester City actually wants to sign Declan Rice, I think what’s going on is Arteta has picked up the phone to Pep [Guardiola] and said listen, Arsenal are going to do the incremental bid approach, if you put a higher bid in, that will push my owner.”
Paddy Kenny responded to the theory with this Tweet:
Never heard owt like it in my life 🙈 how does she get airtime?? Biggest load of bull I’ve ever heard 🙈🙈 https://t.co/dgpTSr7a4j

This prompted Aluko to send the following DMs to Paddy Kenny:
Might have been a better idea to just ignore Paddy Kenny’s criticism as no one even remembers who he is anyway, but unfortunately Aluko felt the need to vent at him. The key difference though is that Aluko did it in private rather than try to shame and humiliate the guy in front of millions of people on TV or Twitter, which is what Barton has been incessantly doing to her and her female colleagues.
Even still, Aluko also sent this DM to another social media user who had also mocked her Declan Rice transfer theory:
As a professional pundit or just someone who’s in the public eye, it’s never a good idea to respond to trolls online, whether by DM or otherwise. Your messages will eventually be leaked out to the world, every time, guaranteed. That’s being famous 101 at this point.
Well anyway, I’d say we hope this will all die down and everyone can move on with their lives, but you just know Joey Barton is going to call Aluko out again when she’s back in the UK and says something he believes is silly on TV. Speaking of which, why hasn’t he responded to the Mary Earps goalkeeper challenge yet?
