There’s no denying that ‘The End Of The F***ing World’ was a breath of fresh air an an already convoluted television landscape when it first came out last year thanks to its unique blend of madcap storytelling, humour, teenage angst and that never ending threat of violence, but there was always a great debate over whether it would be returning for a second series.

Obviously the show was based on a graphic novel that ended where the show ended and it looked like after the show’s initial run on Channel 4 that this might be the end of the line for James and Alyssa as well. However, following Netflix’s acquiral of the show and the tremendous surge in worldwide popularity it enjoyed because of this, it seemed inevitable that they would try to continue the franchise – and that’s exactly what they’ve done.

So I guess that doesn’t really reveal much but you can probably assume that everyone involved with the original series including the two leads Alex Lawther and Jennifer Bardem and showrunner Charlie Covell will be back for round two. Obviously this could go either way and ruin the show’s legacy or turn it into one of the all time greats, but it’s a big risk without the source material in place anymore. Fingers crossed they know what they’re doing and don’t screw it up.
For more of the same, check out the trailer to another Netflix favourite Ozark. Looks like they’re doing that one right at least.
