Lil Peep was heralded as the future of emo as his unique take on the genre was blowing up massively all over the world, but that isn’t how it’s going to pan out now as it’s sadly being reported that he passed away at the age of just 21.

Although no cause of death has yet been announced, it’s being rumoured that it happened thanks to an overdose of Xanax and Fentanyl pills and could possibly be a suicide. This is yet to be confirmed though, but this theory is backed up by the fact that it doesn’t sound as if his manager Chase Ortega was too surprised about the news after he tweeted the following: ‘I’ve been expecting this call for a year. Mother fuck’ (can’t embed his tweets as they’re protected).
Sounds like Peep had his own demons that he just couldn’t escape, which I suppose you may have guessed if you listened to his music. RIP.
Sad. If you hadn’t heard of Peep, he was blowing up massively after the release of his album Come Over When You’re Sober (Part One) last August. Wouldn’t say I was a fan but the kids seem to be down with it – guess that’s what’s popular these days.
He was currently in the middle of a US tour and was due to perform in Arizona last night and California tonight where the tour would end. Obviously those two shows have now been cancelled though. RIP.
