Rough night for Elon Musk as he attempted to show off Starlink’s in-flight WiFi capabilities while on board his private jet the other day. Musk streamed himself playing Path of Exile 2 on the hardest difficulty, which was broadcast live on X.

Unfortunately for the DOGE chief, he kept dying repeatedly to the game’s first boss, which may have been partly due to being distracted by the barrage of “you’re dumb and ugly”, “you will die alone”, and “trans rights are human rights” comments in the chat.

For an hour and a half, Musk sat there in silence and blasted techno music while users with names like “ELON_IS_A_PEEDOPHILE” and “ELON_MUSK_IS_PATHETIC” spammed the chat to tell him “you will die alone” and that “you will always feel insecure and it will never go away”:

Brutal stuff. Of course, none of that would have happened if Elon Musk had just turned off the comments, but instead he just sat there individually putting users on ‘ignore’, which seems like a weird way to go about things. Several users were even encouraging the Tesla CEO to activate the game’s “Do Not Disturb” command or hide the chat, but for some reason Musk kept doing it the hard way, which was never going to work because there were just too many people ripping into him.

Maybe he genuinely doesn’t know how to use those functions? Which would seem odd for a guy like Elon Musk who has always seemed keen for people to know that he’s a elite gamer who spends a lot of time gaming.

In any case, I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I actually feel kinda sorry for him. Can’t be easy being one of the richest and most powerful and influential people in the world, and still getting ruthlessly trolled and cyberbullied by autistic, transgender gamers online. A sad state of affairs really.
