We all know Elon Musk is a bit of a weirdo, but I don’t think anyone would have expected the world’s richest man and CEO of Twitter to have a burner account where he pretends to be a small child and sends bizarre, child-like Tweets.
Elon appeared to accidentally reveal his second account in a screenshot he shared on Monday night, which was intended to show Twitter users how to enable subscriptions on Twitter. He completely forgot that the avatar for any other accounts you post with shows up on your profile page:
Whoops! Major rookie mistake from the guy who runs the whole company, but it probably wouldn’t have been a big deal if there weren’t so many weird Tweets coming from the account. For example:
No idea what Musk is playing at to be honest, but it’s pretty wild to see one of the world’s richest and most powerful men exhibit online behaviour you might expect from a permanently-online incel stoner living in their mum’s basement. Roleplaying as a child on Twitter? Switching accounts to reply to his own Tweets? In fact the way Elon has been going on since buying the company, maybe it’s not that shocking at all.
For what it’s worth, Twitter accounts followed by @ErmnMusk include Bari Weiss’s website The Free Press, Matthew Yglesias, California Governor Gavin Newsom, Stephen King, Donald Trump, several Bitcoin accounts, tech investors, a handful of pop stars, MrBeast, NASA, Khloe and Kim Kardashian, and a Twitter troll who famously posed as a fired Twitter employee, among others. So maybe there were more than just a few clues there already. Will be interesting to see if he addresses this at any point, though. No way he tries to deny it, surely?
