Elliot Page has revealed to the Los Angeles Times that he realised he was transgender when he started hearing and then talking to a voice in his head, following an episode of self-harm. Days later, a doctor gave approval for him to transition. Nice and easy!

The article is now doing the rounds on social media as people say it suggests that Elliot Page was suffering a psychotic/schizophrenic episode when he realised he was trans, and that it was unbelievably unprofessional and unethical for any doctor to grant him top surgery based on him hearing a voice in his head.
However, it’s possible people are taking the ‘hearing voices’ part a bit too literally and it’s intended to imply that Page was simply having thoughts. Even so, is it a bit extreme to go straight from that to a masectomy within the space of a month?
You know what we always say – as long as Elliot Page is happy in his own skin, then that’s what matters.
Not to mention he’s now in the running to play Superman! Or was that someone’s idea of a joke?
