From the jump I want to say that there’s probably a 0.1% chance this is true but a part of me hopes it is just for the sheer amount of pandemonium it would cause.
According to numerous movie accounts on social media, filmmaker James Gunn is considering Elliot Page for the role of Superman after officially ousting Henry Cavill from his longtime role.
Again, this sounds so completely ridiculous that it’s probably just something someone made up and managed to send viral, but it’s pretty interesting seeing the reaction online, including people Photoshopping Page into Superman gear:

As you can imagine, some of the comments are downright mean which is pretty harsh considering Page had nothing to do with these rumours coming out in the first place. Still, I think we can all agree there are better and more convincing options out there to replace Cavill in the Superman role. Can’t really imagine Page lifting someone over their head and tossing them through a wall, can you?
As I said though, let’s hold out hope that Superman Ellen Page is a possibility because I think you’d actually see the internet implode with rage. Can we at least convince Jordan Peterson it’s a real news story? Would love to hear his take on this one.
In related news, footage of Nicolas Cage as Superman recently surfaced, via a cancelled Tim Burton film in 1997. How epic would that have been?
