I used to write about sick football skills on Sick Chirpse all the time but now it takes something really special for me to feature them. Now, it’s happened and the honour belongs to Edniho who featured in Portugal’s game against Cameroon the other night.

Edin – who I hear you ask? Well yeah, exactly (he’s a 31 year old Portuguese striker currently on loan from Braga at Turkish club Kayseri Erciyesspor) but this trick is next level dope and I’ve never seen anything like it. It’s debatable if he meant to do it or not, but if he did it’s absolutely sensational, and to be honest it looks like the kind of thing that would be hard to pull off accidentally so in all likelihood he probably did mean to do it.

The ball was punted up to him but he got his run all wrong so the ball is actually going to fall behind him. Instead of turning around and controlling it or something though, he controls it with the back heel of his right foot and flicks it up onto his left and over his head into his stride, all without it ever touching the ground. It’s a shame he didn’t score after it because if he did it would surely be remembered as one of the greatest pieces of control of all time.
