The uploader of our final clip stayed at a Kazakh Eagle Hunter’s house in Olgii, Mongolia whilst he prepared for the Altai Kazakh Eagle Hunter Festival. The eagle hunter – Aral – allowed them to strap a camera on his golden eagle to see how it came out. If I was Aral I would have told him to stop freaking my bird out days before an important competition, but I suppose Aral knows best.
A golden eagle’s wingspan can reach over 7ft and they can hit 150mph when they’re diving towards prey. They are some pretty fierce predators and no mistake. Here’s Aral’s golden eagle floating out over the gloriously sparse Mongolian planes.

Wonderful. Right, I’m off to do some urban twitching. I’m not very likely to see an eagle of any sort, let alone one of the golden variety, but if I spot anything that isn’t a pigeon or a seagull I will be dead chuffed.
