Sofiia Karkadym and Tony Garnett has to be the stupidest love story of the year after the 29 year old left his long term partner and kids for her after she had been hosted as a refugee at their home for about a week.

It would be the dumbest if it just ended there, but obviously their relationship barely lasted two months and it’s now been revealed that Sofia has headed back to her homeland after Tony dumped her. Here’s what she had to say about her decision:

I am going back to Ukraine because of the situation with me and Tony here. I need some support from my family and I have not seen them for six months.

I was living in a hostel and I did not have a plan for the next stage so I have to go home. I have mixed feelings about my time in England.

There were a lot of good things but it became really hard for me and I didn’t expect all of the public reaction which was difficult. But I have been left with a very good impression of people here.

I am so grateful to everyone for the way they have been willing to help me and other people from Ukraine after the war. I have no idea what the future holds for me now.

Neither do I, but it sounds like she’s better off going back home than she is with Tony Garnett. Despite the fact that Tony is saying he dumped Sofia and wants nothing more to do with her, she’s claiming that he turned her into a domestic slave forcing her to do all his cooking and cleaning whilst spending her benefits money on gambling online. Doesn’t sound much better than war torn Ukraine does it?

Anyway, Tony at least had the good grace to drive her from his parent’s home in Bradford – where the couple were living – to Manchester Airport and see her off. Will this be the last that we hear from the pair?

Probably not to be honest as they both seem fairly fame hungry to keep talking to the media about their ridiculous relationship. Kinda crazy that they even wanted to publicise it in the first place, but just like you I’m eager to see where one of the dumbest relationships of all time finally ends up.

At least Sofia will be able to eat McDonald’s back in Ukraine now. Might need to do a a bit of comfort eating to be fair.
