In what might be one of the weirdest stories I’ve read all week, a man over in Manchester punched a newborn baby in the face while shopping in his local Tesco after thinking it was a doll.

Poor Amy Duckers watched in horror as the yob came over and belted her 5-day-old baby, Elsie Rose, in the face. He then calmly admitted:
Sorry, I thought it was a doll.
The baby’s little sister, 7-year-old Libby, was terrified that he had killed little Elsie, although luckily she was rushed to hospital and everything seems to be OK.
Amy added:
I’m absolutely broken and torn apart. I can’t believe what me and my daughter had to see last night it was just so horrific.
I never ever want anyone to have to go through that again.
We all heard the punch land on my little baby. We didn’t react at first as we were just so shocked.
Then I just screamed. He could easily have killed her.
Amy described how the family had gone to Tesco where they met a neighbor who came over to look at the baby:
Our neighbour then saw one of her work colleagues who was with her husband and said, ‘Aww come and have a look at this lovely baby’.
The next thing he ran over and punched Elsie Rose in the face leaving a very big fist mark shape across her forehead.
We were mortified. My daughter was screaming thinking he had killed the baby.
He then just apologised and said ‘sorry I thought it was a doll.’
As said, Elsie was rushed to hospital and all is OK now. Also, the man who threw the finisher has since been arrested and is currently being held in custody as he is questioned over the incident.
The main thing I want to know about all of this is, even if it was a doll, why did the dude punch it? Whether it’s plastic or flesh, there’s no need to go up to someone’s property and smash it right in the kisser.
Guy sounds like an absolute wrong’un. Nearly as bad as this dude who punched his own baby in the face after his girlfriend wouldn’t let him go to the arcade.
