Brutal clip doing the rounds today of a ukelele-playing fan who seized the opportunity to introduce himself to Dua Lipa and play her 30 seconds of his song at Glastonbury. Probably the last thing she wants to deal with when she’s just trying to relax and enjoy some downtime, so the least she could hope is that maybe she was about to hear a ukelele banger from a future star of the music business.

Sadly, it didn’t quite pan out that way:

Listen, fair play to this guy for having the balls to just walk up to Dua Lipa and perform his music like that, but I don’t think I’m exaggerating when I say she would have rather been anywhere else in the world in that moment. She didn’t even let him finish his song, just walked off and got as far away from the situation as possible. Maybe just play the chorus next time if you’re going to ambush an international superstar with a ukelele and a camera crew in the middle of Glastonbury?

I suppose she was pretty polite under the circumstances, but as soon as she realised the song was crap; it was over. Which is a shame, because I think everyone was rooting for this lad until he actually started singing. That “ice cream leather but she’s all black leather” lyric was just too much for anyone to deal with, let alone a superstar like Dua Lipa. Back to the drawing board on that one.
