They say a murderer always returns to the scene of the crime, but I don’t think they meant it like this.
Marek Hecko, 26, murdered father-of-two Adrian Ellingford, 44, at a property in Chelmsford, Essex, and then fled the scene, before returning whilst completely bladdered and practically handing himself in.
A man drinking a bottle of Courvoisier returned to the scene after murdering a father of two has been sentenced to life in prison.

I’m not going to tell you my name because I don’t give a f**k… because I know what happened.
And you need me to figure out what happened. If you don’t have me, you don’t know what happened.
I know what happened. I know the people… involved. I just know that some guy came here and he f**ked up some guy.
If you don’t have me, you don’t know what happened. You’re going to think about me, but it’s not going to be me, because you have no proof. This city is mine.
According to Metro, the victim had been staying at Hecko’s ex-girlfriend Stephanie Breame’s home on the night he was murdered. Stephanie woke in bed to Adrian saying ‘someone’ was in the house – moments later, he collapsed with a knife embedded in his back.
I don’t know if Hecko had a subconscious urge to get caught or if he’s just the dumbest criminal on the planet (although, in fairness, he had just drank a giant bottle of Courvoisier on his own). Either way, he’s going to jail for a very long time so that’s good news. Fair play to the police for cracking the code and solving the case. Some high level detective work indeed.
