There’s been a lot of focus on Dr Dre’s divorce from his wife of 25 years Nicole Young recently after she asked for spousal support of something ridiculous like $2 million a month, but now it turns out that she might have embezzled a bunch of money from him beforehand as well.

The claim comes courtesy of Dre’s business partner Larry Chatman who he co-owns Record One with, who is saying that Young wrote herself a cheque to the tune of $363,571.85. Then, two days after she received a letter accusing her of criminal misconduct, she decided to write another cheque to herself for $31,457. Sounds like she’s got a bit of a habit going on there hey?

Young has denied any wrongdoing, with her lawyer Bryan Freedman telling TMZ the following: 

This is a clear attempt to smear Nicole’s name.

As people are well aware, banks do not give out money to people who are not authorized to receive it.

Salty. Freedman is also saying that this claim is a low grade PR stunt designed to take away attention from a lawsuit that Young recently filed against Dre that he is hiding assets from her that she is entitled to and that he also committed domestic assault against her. I suppose saying something like this does provide a bit of a distraction doesn’t it?

Anyway, the whole thing sounds like a major mess to me and it seems like it’s going to take a pretty long time for any of it to be resolved, if it ever does manage to get sorted out. Best of luck to everyone involved I suppose?
