Former White House press secretary Sarah Sanders has revealed that President Trump told her she should “go to North Korea and take one for the team” after Kim Jong-un winked at her in June 2018 during a summit in Singapore, reports the NY Post.

Sanders cited the conversation she had with Trump in his limousine on the way to the airport in her new memoir ‘Speaking For Myself’.

In it, she describes how Kim and Trump met and talked about sports and the North Korean dictator accepted a Tic Tac from the president.

Suddenly, Sanders said, she noticed Kim looking at her:

[I noticed] Kim staring at me. We made direct eye contact and Kim nodded and appeared to wink at me. I was stunned. I quickly looked down and continued taking notes.

… All I could think was, ‘What just happened? Surely Kim Jong Un did not just mark me!?

Later, riding in the limousine with Trump and then-White House chief of staff John Kelly, Sanders told the pair about the encounter. She says this is how Trump responded:

Kim Jong Un hit on you. He did. He fucking hit on you.

Well, Sarah, that settles it. You’re going to North Korea and taking one for the team! Your husband and kids will miss you, but you’ll be a hero to your country!

She added that Kelly and Trump “howled with laughter.”

In fairness to Trump, it does sound like a pretty amusing situation (even Sarah Sanders thought so) and he was obviously just cracking a joke about it and wasn’t suggesting that Sanders literally head over to North Korea and have sex with Kim Jong-un.

One look on Twitter though and it looks like people are selling this story as Trump literally trying to pimp out his press secretary to the leader of North Korea, which I guess isn’t completely out of the question but reading back the exchange it’s more likely he was just having a bit of banter in the limo in this case.

This psychopath does not know what a joke is. He never jokes. He backtracks insane remarks by calling them jokes, but they’re not. He would carry them through without pushback.

I despise trump, but media is playing right into his hands with this one. this was obvious goating and teasing and laughing. I didnt see her say she was offended. anyone who has a brother would probably look at it this way. its giving credence to trumps “fake news” narrative
