Donald Trump has today said he would be happy to take part in a 4-hour debate against Presidential rival Joe Biden, with Joe Rogan hosting and moderating the proceedings.

Trump responded to a Tweet by former UFC fighter Tim Kennedy who floated Joe Rogan’s idea on Twitter after he’d brought it up on his podcast the other night:

Rogan had said that in order to avoid bias in the media, he’d be happy to moderate a debate between Trump & Biden:
First of all, I want no one else in the room, just the three of us, and you’d have to stream it live so no one can edit it, and I would want them in there for hours.
If they wanted to do that – they both wanted to come here in Austin, sit down and have a debate – I would 100% do it.
But I don’t think that Biden can handle it. I think Biden is like, I think he’s, I mean people get mad at me for saying this, I think there’s something wrong and I don’t think there’s something wrong, because I’m guessing, or because I’m pro-Trump. I’ve seen him fall apart.
Please make this happen. I mean regardless of your politics this would be must-watch content. I think there’s a very small chance it will actually happen and I don’t think either candidate is particularly up for it, but Trump has beaten Biden to accepting the offer so now if it doesn’t happen it’s going to make Biden look like a pussy. Classic Trump move I guess.
Would Joe Rogan actually make a fair and impartial moderator? I think so. I mean he disses both of these guys all the time and has become a very competent interviewer over the years, buckling down and getting serious when the topic or guest calls for it. Rogan always points out that he’s a “moron” and a “caveman” and says people shouldn’t listen to him, but that’s why he’s so popular – because most of us are morons as well. Watching him is like watching an ‘average’ guy who is genuinely interested in the topic having these long-form discussions with scientists, athletes, sociologists, politicians, and all kinds of other experts and professionals. If they actually went ahead with this and ran it live for 4 hours – there’d be no place for Trump or Biden to hide.
Insane year for Joe Rogan in any case. First he banks $100m moving to Spotify and now the President of the USA wants to go on his podcast. Definitely the most powerful man in media right now.
