Over in Corfu, Greece, where they celebrate Easter a month later than the rest of us, there’s a tradition where you throw human-sized pots out of the window and watch them smash to the ground. It’s meant to bring good luck, but apparently not if you’re a tourist walking underneath said window at the same time.
Here’s how the annual pot-smashing went for the Deputy Mayor of Corfu on Sunday:

Ouch. No wonder pick-pocketing is so rife around Europe – these tourists have zero awareness of their surroundings! Although I guess the last thing you expect when walking around a Greek island is that someone’s going to throw a giant pot out of the window as you’re walking below it.

The best part about it is how the Mayor immediately walked away from the situation like he could already see the headlines forming before his eyes.
The good news is that the tourists appear to be injury and concussion-free in the moments following the impact, but hopefully they were assessed properly before being allowed to go on their merry way. Safe travels, ladies!
