Employee: Roger Smith

Job: General Motors CEO

Pressure rating: 8/10

Yeah, you’re right – this list is random, but if you wanted to read something of coherent format you wouldn’t be on Sick Chirpse.

For those that don’t know, Roger Smith was CEO of General Motors. Once head of the largest private corporation in the world, he was also the much vilified subject of Michael Moore’s fat cat-baiting screen debut, Roger and Me. Smith was blamed for driving the chain to near bankruptcy and leaving thousands of workers on the brink of poverty. He expertly achieved this by closing a bunch of factories when the company was making billions in profit then relocating them to Mexico where you only had to pay everyone 70¢ an hour.

(Note – if you can find another piece that starts with David Moyes then veers inexplicably to capitalism, point it out so I can check if they’ve been smoking something similar).

Moyes-factor: The town of Flint, Michigan is now a derelict gutter of non-existent opportunity thanks to Roger Smith. Ironically, if Moyes performs a similar feat at Utd then a lot of people will be quite pleased about it.
