Dave Grohl is known as the nicest man in rock and he proved it once again on Friday night when he decided to help out his friends at the NME on the relaunch of the Club NME club night by showing up to perform a secret set.

The event was held at the Moth Club in Hackney which holds literally about 100 people, so obviously everyone was pretty stoked to see Grohl bust out a few of the Foo Fighters biggest hits in such an intimate environment. He was also joined for some reason by Rick Astley, who played the drums from him on Times Like These and Everlong and then bizarrely also kept the beat and provided some vocals whilst Grohl covered his own massive hit ‘Never Gonna Give U Up’.
Truly something you’ve gotta watch yourself:
Me: What would a duet between Dave Grohl and Rick Astley look like?

It’s ‘Times like these’ that I appreciate just how amazingly crazy my lucky life can be! Last night I jammed with Dave and Rami from @Foofighters !!! You’re the Dudes !!
Thanks to @NME and Saint Leonard for a great set and loan of their gear

What an absolutely crazy night hey. Kinda gutted I didn’t know about it because I only live about ten minutes away from Moth Club but I guess you’ve gotta be in the know in the music industry to get invited to these once in a lifetime things. Maybe time for a career change.
For more of the same, check out Dave Grohl’s 8 year old daughter playing drums on a Foo Fighters song. Fantastic.
