I’m not sure whether I expect fast food restaurants to be bastions of health and hygiene, but I at least expect them not to have massive spiders crawling around in the food that they serve you, so it’s really gross to see a picture like the one above.

Luke Hatherall had sadly already taken a bite out of his KFC Crispy Twister Buffalo Wrap when he noticed the gigantic insect crawling around on top of his lettuce and understandably immediately went back to complain about what he had been served at the outlet in Newport, Gwent. Apparently the staff didn’t really care about the fact that Luke had found a giant spider in his wrap and just offered him a refund. Typical.

As such, Luke has vowed to never eat at that KFC ever again, saying the following about his experience:

The manager didn’t seem to care at all, offered me a refund of course but the way they acted was as if it happens all the time.

Really annoyed me. I eat at that KFC all the time. Won’t be going again this was the last straw.

I’m not really one to complain about this kind of thing, but the reaction from the staff has really annoyed me, they didn’t seem to care at all.

Wow. Do you think they actually just serve up spiders in that KFC all the time? Pretty unique selling point there.

Anyway, I always say in articles like this that considering how many KFCs are out there, it’s more surprising that stuff like this doesn’t happen all the time, so you do have to chalk this up to a freak occurrence. This particular KFC only has a two star hygiene rating though so maybe steer clear of it if you ever have the displeasure of ending up in Newport. Hit up Burger King or Maccys or Subway or something.
