It was the 4th July over in America yesterday, so everyone was obviously celebrating because they just love shooting guns, grilling meat on the BBQ and enjoying their freedom.

Of course, this also meant that there was a lot of weird stuff going on at state fairs and the like, with the 107th annual Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest getting underway on the corner of Surf and Stillwell in Coney Island. Hot dog eating legend Joey Chestnut was present and once again asserted his dominance in the competition, but not before he absolutely pulverised a protester who tried to run on the stage.
Chestnut had been in a bit of a rut in the buildup to the competition – actually losing the last hot dog eating contest he was involved in – but nothing was going to stop him this time. Check out this video of him bashing the Darth Vader dressed troll and then continue to pound hot dogs like it’s not even a slight big deal:

What a legend. The guy still managed to beat off the whole field by about twenty hot dogs even after being attacked and laying the smackdown on this clown. You can’t put a price on that.
Will there ever be anyone better in the field of competitive hot dog eating? It seems unlikely.I’m fairly sure that this event will go down as his Zinedine Zidane Champs League final moment. Incredible.
