Anyone who knows anything about ‘alternative’ music or grunge or rock or pop rock or whatever you want to call it probably knows that there is massive beef between Dave Grohl and Courtney Love over Kurt Cobain’s estate and to just who all the profits from Nirvana (who still sell more records than almost every other band every year) go to. Everyone probably knows about that right, I mean it’s pretty well publicised. If you don’t I guess google it or something.
Everybody probably knows that Courtney Love is crazy too, I mean some of the things she has gotten up to, man! Google them too to if you don’t know about them. She’s screwed up crackhead (but still kinda hot in a trashy way) and she was at it again this weekend at some festival in Brazil where Hole were playing. I know what you’re thinking, wait a minute Hole are still a band that plays shows!? Apparently so, although I doubt Melissa Auf Der Mer or any of the other guys from the original lineup are playing with them anymore.
Anyway they’re at some festival in Brazil playing a show or whatever and Courtney Love goes crazy when some guy in the crowd has a picture of Kurt Cobain. I mean I guess that isn’t that nice but she probably doesn’t need to go mental and say this:
“I don’t need to see a picture of Kurt, a—–e, and I’m going to have you f—ing removed if you keep holding that up, I’m not Kurt, I have to live with his s— and his ghost and his kid every day, and throwing that up is stupid and rude and I’m going to beat the f— out of you if you do it again.”
Courtney Love then left the stage and hung out in the back for a bit until some English guy came back on and got the crowd to chant that Foo Fighters were gay. Which is kind of funny. If you’re ten. Courtney Love then came back on stage and ripped on Dave Grohl for a bit, and I guess after that she probably continued with the concert.
Not sure if I would rather just see a Hole show straight up or if I’d expect a Courtney Love meltdown when I went to one. Would I feel cheated if she didn’t do something like this? Probably. Probably not going to go see Hole any time soon though to be fair so I doubt we’ll ever find out.
