A Birmingham couple have missed out on a £1200 Las Vegas dream holiday after booking flights from the wrong Birmingham airport. Whoops.

To make matters even worse, Richella (Richella?) Heekin and Ben Marlow only discovered they had screwed up their flights when they turned up at the airport all packed and ready to go. They had also told all their family and friends about how they were so stoked about going for the last few weeks leading up to it, and Richella had even presented the tickets to Ben at a party in front of their family and friends.
Talk about making a big deal about your shitty little holiday and rubbing it in to everyone you’ve ever met. Considering that, it couldn’t really have gone any worse for them could it? Here’s what Ben had to say:
When we turned up at the airport we couldn’t find the flight details anywhere.
We approached one of the desks and they told us our holiday was booked from Alabama.
I was gutted – more for my partner than for me.
She had told everyone and she was really upset.
She was distraught and we didn’t know what to do.
It’s a common mistake apparently – but if that’s the case the company’s website should make it more clear.
It’s embarrassing because everyone was really happy for us.
We are just going to have to start saving from scratch again.
Yeah I’m not sure it’s that common mate. Or if it is then you’re the only bell-ends that aren’t so embarrassed about being completely and utterly stupid that you think it’s good to tell the press about it and get loads of photos of you looking sad with your suitcases to make the whole situation even lamer, dumber and more embarrassing for you. Nuff said really.
In all seriousness though, how many people turn up to the airport not having checked their tickets once? There’s no way it wouldn’t have said Birmingham, Alabama on there or the flight itinerary. It really does beggar belief how they could not have noticed this beforehand.
It’s also really funny that the girl was bragging about it to all their friends so much and now just looks like an idiot to all of them. And then she took that one step further and made herself look like an idiot to the entire world by going to the papers about it. Baffling.
If you’re wondering what the pair ended up doing, they headed off to Amsterdam instead. Not quite the same but I suppose they still had a good time.
