Rap legend Coolio sadly passed away last week in somewhat mysterious circumstances, but we’re now hearing all kinds of stories about how he was a great dude as well as an awesome hip hop artist.

The weirdest and nicest one that has come to light is this one from a gig that he played one night in Preston. Following the show, Coolio for some reason made friends with a bunch of students who had attended and ended up going back to their halls, cooking for them and then performing an acoustic version of ‘Gangsta’s Paradise’ for them with some random guy on acoustic guitar.

What a moment. It’s just so strange that an admittedly much older and well past it Coolio would end up going back to a student’s house for fun to play his biggest song as he had literally been a global superstar at one point in his career, but it just proves how humble and awesome the guy is. RIP to a real one.
