The build up to the Conor McGregor Floyd Mayweather fight continues to rumble on and another controversy has arisen from Conor McGregor’s sparring partner, who had a meltdown on social media and dramatically quit the training camp after accusing him of releasing footage to deliberately make him look bad.

McGregor had drafted in former world champion boxer Paulie Malignaggi to help him with his sparring and engaged in two sessions in the last week, both of which were described as ‘intense’. Malignaggi sparred eight and twelve rounds with Conor, and came out of it looking a little worse for wear, despite the fact that he claimed he enjoyed them both.
Ouch. Malignaggi swore not to reveal any details about the training regime to the press, but he became incensed when the following photograph was apparently leaked by Conor’s team to make him look bad and went on a rant on social media about how he easily beat the Notorious and that these pictures weren’t an accurate representation of what went down:

Malignaggi then did cool down a bit and posted the following apology, but it seems like the damage has already been done with what he had already said. He’s outta there:

So did Conor knock him down or was it an illegal push? I’m thinking it was probably the latter, but we’ll never truly know for sure without that unedited footage which I doubt will ever see the light of day. Not really looking that good for McGregor, but then again I suppose nobody has really given him a chance in hell in this fight from the start so it’s not really going to bother him. We’re all still gonna tune in anyway.
