Although it looked like a tasty deal, we still weren’t sure whether or not he would take it, but now it appears that we have confirmation. The announcement comes after UFC president Dana White was quizzed on the matter during an appearance on ‘Fox Sports Live’ where he said that ‘The Notorious’ will indeed mix it up with the Lannisters, the Starks and the White Walkers:
I knew that a few months ago that they were interested in putting him in the show
And I’m glad he did it. It’ll be great.

A source who’s friends with McGregor added:
It’s been agreed that McGregor will appear in one of the remaining two seasons of ‘Game of Thrones’.
He was headhunted as it were by HBO, as one of the ‘Game of Thrones’ directors is a huge UFC fan. They believed that he would be a perfect fit for the show.
