So earlier this week it was announced that Wayne Rooney will be returning to DC United over in the States, only this time as manager on a $1 million a year deal…
Wayne Rooney is making a return to D.C. United as the club’s new coach, per @washingtonpost.
The former England captain is reportedly expected to sign a multi-year deal worth at least $1 million annually.
It’d be the highest coaching salary in franchise history. pic.twitter.com/IQ63ODQGvg

Sounds like a pretty sweet deal, except according to The Sun, wife Coleen is insisting that her brother Anthony McLoughlin accompany Rooney across the pond to keep an eye on him because she wants to stay in the UK. Wayne Rooney – a 36-year-old man with a chaperone! Is $1 million a year even worth it if he’s got his brother-in-law watching him like a hawk and reporting his every move back to Coleen?
In fairness to Coleen, she may have a right to be a little paranoid. Look at what’s happened every other time she’s let him go off on his own…
Sorry for having a little bit of fun, Coleen! That’s what proper football lads do. Who knows, maybe he’ll manage to corrupt/strike a deal with Coleen’s brother and have himself a good time anyway.
Fair play to Rooney though – his managerial run at Derby was a total disaster but instead of just kicking back and retiring with loads of money he’s decided to give it another try in the States. Who could forget that day he gave one of the greatest assists of all time for the MLS side:

Go Wayne Go!
For the time Wayne had to tell off Jamie Vardy about his wife at Euro 2016, click HERE. See Coleen? The man’s got your back.
