Cillian Murphy is the talk of the town right now after his standout performance as the titular character in Oppenheimer that’s probably going to win him an Oscar, and this has also led to a spotlight being shone on his other famous roles.

Obviously one of these came in classic Danny Boyle zombie film ’28 Days Later’, of which Boyle has recently been talking up the possibility of a sequel – and it turns out that Cillian would be more than up for starring in it as well. Speaking to the ‘Happy Sad Confused’ podcast, he said the following:
I’d love to do it.
There needs to be a script, and Danny needs to find the time, and Alex needs to feel that there’s more story to tell.
I made two movies with both of those guys, and I would love to work with them again.Of course, I’m there.
Doesn’t really sound like there’s much to worry about then and it’s almost certainly going to happen some time in the not too distant future? Boyle and Garland reckon that the script has been completed already though, so it’s weird that Murphy doesn’t seem to know anything about it at this point, but we all know that the movie business can move at a glacial pace sometimes so hopefully that isn’t a problem or a lack of communication or anything that could hold it up. Kinda sounds like we’ll be seeing it sooner than we think maybe.
For more of the same, check out Cillian Murphy saying that he would be up for playing Ken in a Barbie sequel. Sounds like he’s in quite some demand at the moment.
