Super GILF Christie Brinkley has opened up about how she was once afraid of getting older, because she was told the modelling world would kick her to the curb as soon as she turned 30.
Which statistically is probably correct, but when you’re in the top 0.001% of supermodels like Christie Brinkley, the statistics don’t apply. Brinkley says:
“They told me by the time you’re 30, you’ll be chewed up and spit out of this business. But 50 isn’t 50 anymore. Thirty isn’t 30 anymore.”
Incredible. Traditionally, 70 is the age where you’re meant to be knitting cardigans and enjoying life with your grandkids, not giving everyone ridiculous boners because you’re a drop dead gorgeous septuagenarian.
Pretty wild to think Christie Brinkley was 30 in 1984 and presumably peaked around that time, and she’s still going strong as a model 40 years later.
Again, I wouldn’t take too much encouragement from this if you’re a young model in the game right now. Being told that you’ll be “chewed up and spit out” at 30 was sound advice back then, and probably still is now. We can’t all be Christie Brinkleys, after all.
Never forget:
