In case you haven’t noticed it’s election day over in the USA. Obviously, the only candidate that won’t plunge is back into the dark ages is Barack Obama. If you don’t believe us, read our plea to America to re-elect him.
I’m not proud of how little I know/care about politics, but that’s just how I am and I’m too busy doing other stuff – like poking around inside animals under a microscope and getting drunk every night (Uni is fun) – to change at this moment in time.

It does seem to me, though, that not much has changed in four years regarding the way Americans vote for their presidents. In 2008, the majority of the black population of the USA voted for Obama. This year, it seems that the majority of Mitt Romney’s voters are white. Now, this should all be very understandable. I’m not judging anyone – people vote for the guy they can relate to, the guy that shares their interests and background and understands them. And obviously there’s the whole thing about ‘the first black president’ and marking a complete turnaround in society since the days of slavery and signifying a major victory for equality in the Western world and Martin Luther King and blah blah blah. That’s all great.
There’s just one thing that bothers me: Barack Obama is one of the whitest guys I’ve ever seen.
