70-year-old TV broadcast veteran Chris Matthews had a bit of a slip-up the other night – making ‘inappropriate remarks’ about Melania Trump without realising his mic was on.

Matthews made the remarks as Melania’s husband Donald gave a victory speech after being named the Republican Party’s sole presidential candidate.

Did you see her walk? That’s a runway walk. My God, is that good. I could watch that runway show.

Upon realising what’s happening, the other news anchor suggests they cut to a break.

I don’t think this is as bad as people are making out. After all, Chris Matthews is is 70 years old. Once you hit 70 you’re allowed to say whatever you want. You’ve earned the right to offend anyone and everyone and get away with it. Just ask Prince Philip.

Besides, something tells me Donald Trump would be totally OK with this. Not like he married Melania because she’s a great conversationalist (and vice versa). He married her so other men his age would be jealous and also to rub it in his political opponents’ faces.
