It’s official — the Chinese are the absolute WORST at watching the World Cup.
First the dude that literally died from sleep deprivation on Day One of the tournament because he wanted to watch every match and now this kid named Lin, a uni student in Guangdong, who jumped to his death from a seventh floor building on his campus.
A witness said:
I heard him say ‘do not force me’ and ‘give me two more days and I’ll return you the money’
He talked on the phone for more than 10 minutes. I saw him hang up and stand up and then all in a sudden he just disappeared.
Another student said Lin lost 20,000 yuan ($3200) in bets over several games. What was he betting on — England winning a game?
Anyway, just a really sad story and damn shame. You definitely shouldn’t be gambling if you can’t take a $3,000 hit though, that’s for sure. Word to the amateur gamblers: it’s called the beautiful game for a reason. Just kick back and enjoy it.
