Some locals really don’t get what the problem is, one local that was interviewed said that dog meat is:
“The tastiest dish. What is wrong with that? Why do we have to follow their (the protesters’) likes and dislikes?”.
She’s missing the point, and I think that’s the main problem. They simply don’t even register that they are being cruel. It’s easy to sit on our Western moral high horse, but it wasn’t that long ago that we had gays arrested and chemically castrated, and burned witches if they didn’t float. No one’s perfect.
