Apparently this festival has been going on for as long as 600 years, and despite China’s steadily growing animal cruelty groups, it is set to remain a mainstay of their culture. Conditions may improve for some of the animals but it will be a long time before the majority of citizens realise/give a shit about the suffering they’re causing.
