4. Magical Meat Powder
Another food one for you and this time it’s meat.
In 2011 the Hefei department of industry and commerce discovered that a special “beef extract” additive was being widely used in restaurants to magically turn cheap chicken and pork into beef.
While that might not sound so disgusting to you, doctors following up the discovery announced that the use of additives can cause poisoning, deformity and even cancer.
The method appears pretty gross as well. A glazing agent is used to remove the pork flavour. The meat is then marinated in a saucer latter to having the beef extract added.
The outcome looks obscene (just look at the picture), although I can’t decide which bit I would rather not eat.
