3. Toxic Toys
We’ve all heard about toxic toys coming out from China and it seems that this has been an ongoing problem that still exists today.
I get that people got to make their dosh somehow, but surely it must be a hard nights sleep knowing that you’re administering cyanide to kiddie-winks at Christmas.
Clearly it can’t be that hard though, as in 2011 researchers from Greenpeace and IPEN tested 500 toys bought in five main Chinese cities, only to find that one in three of them contained heavy metals including either lead, arsenic, cadmium, mercury, antimony or chromium.
If that doesn’t mean much to you, basically they can cause permanent damage to a kid’s immune and nervous systems. Pretty messed up, no?
