Sean Combs AKA P Diddy AKA Brother Love has been accused of rape and physical abuse in a major lawsuit filed by singer Cassie that alleges he used his powerful network to keep her trapped in a violent relationship with him for 10 years.

Cassie alleges that Diddy assaulted her multiple times over the course of their relationship – beating and raping her – and controlled every aspect of her life, with the NY Times reporting she faced “a cycle of abuse, violence, and sex trafficking” until their relationship ended in 2018.

Diddy began ‘aggressively pursuing’ Cassie in 2005 when he was 37 and she was 19, after he had signed her to Bad Boy Records. He invited himself to a gathering for her 21st birthday where he forcibly kissed her. Cassie claims she could not refuse his advances – or offers of drugs – without jeopardising her career.

Some of the stories included in the lawsuit are absolutely nuts, including:

– Often punching, kicking and stomping her.

– Forcing her to hold his guns in her purse.

– Forcing her to engage in sex acts with male sex workers which he photographed and filmed (drugging her so she could ‘disassociate’ during the encounters).

– Beating her so severely in 2015 that when his security guard and assistant saw her “two black eyes, a burst and bruised lip, and a huge welt on her forehead”, they began to cry.

– After Cassie began a brief relationship with Kid Cudi in 2012, Diddy grew so angry that he said he would blow up the rapper’s car. Sure enough, Kid Cudi’s car exploded in his driveway soon after. Cudi confirmed Cassie’s account to the NY Times, saying: “This is all true.”

– In 2016, Bad Boy Management president, James Cruz, told Cassie that her single would not be released unless she answered Diddy’s phone calls.

– By 2018, Ventura was desperate to end their relationship. After a dinner where she believed they would discuss the issue, Combs forced himself into her home and raped her.

Absolutely horrific stuff for a young woman to go through, and it’s not exactly hard to believe given Diddy’s reputation (he already has multiple abuse allegations against him, including from his baby’s mum) and the fact that you’ve got people like Kid Cudi confirming the stories are true. The guy sounds like an absolute monster.

The lawsuit seeks $30 million in damages for lost wages as well as mental pain and severe emotional distress. The lawsuit states: “Ms Ventura seeks justice for the decade of her life that Mr Combs took away from her with threats of violence, excessive use of drugs, physical and psychological abuse, and sexual slavery.”

Let’s hope Cassie has some immense lawyers working for her and that justice is done in the end.
