The toxic nature of Hollywood has been ruthlessly exposed over the last week thanks to the Harvey Weinstein situation and most of the stories that have emerged have been downright depressing – this one is a little different.

Although it centres around a woman being abused again, it’s more about how much of a badass the late, great Carrie Fisher was when it came to standing up for herself. The story comes from screenwriter Heather Robinson – who wrote the 2005 film ‘The Perfect Man – as she recounts how Fisher threatened to cut off a studio exec’s penis if he ever threatened a woman again.

About two weeks later, she sent me a message online and she said, ‘I just saw (blank) at Sony Studios. I knew he would probably be there, so I went to his office and personally delivered a Tiffany box wrapped with a white bow.

I asked her what was inside and she said, ‘It was a cow tongue from Jerry’s Famous Deli with a note that said, If you ever touch my darling Heather or any other woman again, the next delivery will be (clears throat) something of yours in a much smaller box!

Nicely. We’ve all heard stories about Fisher being a complete badass and this is no exception really and only serves to add to her mythos. RIP.
