Terrifying internet video of the week goes to this high school graduate who was apparently dared to jump off a cruise ship in the middle of the night, and actually did it.

Cameron Robbins, 18, and his class had graduated from Louisiana’s University Lab School three days earlier and were celebrating aboard Blackbeard’s Revenge near Athol Island in the Bahamas.

It might seem from the video that the cruise ship is moving at a snail’s pace, but as Robbins dives into the pitch black water, all his fellow passengers can do is toss him a buoy to hold onto as the ship moved along out of sight.

As if being stranded in the darkness in the middle of the ocean wasn’t terrifying enough, the waters off Athol Island are also infested with sharks, and one of them even appears (sort of) in the footage. Some viewers argue that you can see a shark pulling Robbins into the water:

According to the NY Post, the cruise ship stayed in the area for hours, looking for Cameron Robbins. The Coast Guard swiftly called for reinforcements to assist in the search, but officially suspended efforts two days later after combing through 325 miles of ocean.

It’s safe then to assume that Robbins drowned, or, more likely, was eaten by the sharks which inhabit those waters. It’s just so scary to think of being in that situation, and frustrating to think that this 18-year-old kid was so drunk and in such a celebratory mood after graduation that he didn’t think twice about jumping into the water when some idiots dared him to. In the end, there was simply no chance of survival.

RIP Cameron and thoughts with his friends and family.
