It’s been a while since we’ve covered new food items here at Sick Chirpse but when an old friend hit us up about the new B & L Bucket from Burger And Lobster and invited us down for a preview, there was absolutely no way we could say no.
Burger and Lobster has been a staple on the London dining scene for twelve years now and now has nine locations over the capital with their menu simply being based around seafood and burger – the clue is in the name. The B & L Bucket is the next step in their evolution, but you’ll have to be quick as it’s only available for the next six weeks up until August 12th.
The B & L Bucket can be shared between two or four people and each person receives their own and two fresh original recipe Atlantic 1.25lb lobsters, either steamed, grilled or fried to your preference, alongside four claws and half a pound of whole prawns. If that wasn’t enough to whet your appetite than the B & L Bucket also includes unlimited fries as well as unlimited signature creamy lemon and garlic butter. It’s also the first time that Burger And Lobster is offering their lobsters fried, as previously they’ve only been available steamed or grilled, so all the more reason to get down there and try it.
And that’s exactly what we did last night, and as you can see from the pictures above, the bucket did not disappoint. The lobsters were absolutely huge and fried to perfection (of course we had to choose that option) and we received about three prawns each in the bucket which were also delicious.
The main surprise was the fries though – I know in that picture it doesn’t look like there were that many, but trust me when I say that the bucket was full to bursting with them underneath all those lobsters and prawns. I get that it says they’re unlimited in the menu description, but there were so many of them you might as well have highlighted them as the main selling point of the dish.
The B & L Bucket does come in on the pricier side of the equation though at £95 for two people, but I suppose if you’re going out and eating lobster than you’re probably going to be spending a fair bit of money anyway. Guess the cost of living crisis isn’t affecting everyone is it? The B & L Bucket is one of the better value high quality ways to get get your lobster fix out there though and comes highly recommended from everyone here at Sick Chirpse. Enjoy.
