Burger King’s Black Halloween Burger Is Reportedly Turning People’s Poop Green (NSFW)

Burger King recently unveiled a new black bunned Whopper to celebrate Halloween – which you can see above – and it unfortunately has one super scary side effect: it turns your poop green.

We know this thanks to the hashtag #GreenPoop on Twitter. Of course that’s why we know it:

Well, at least it was totally worth it for that one dude.

In case you’re wondering why this happens, nobody really knows why. There was a bunch of speculation that they company uses green food dye to dye the burger black, but Burger King have come out and refuted that saying that there’s else than 1% food dye in the bun and that the flavorings and food colorings in the bun ‘are commonly used in the industry and within the safe and Acceptable Daily Intake (ADI) approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA)’. Others have speculated that it might be something to do with the A-1 steak sauce.

Gizmodo think they have the definitive answer though, and that it’s actually due to some of the blue food dye in the burger bun. Apparently blue food dye can combine with the bile in your stomach to cause your shit to turn green. Of course it is. The bonus behind this though is that you’re crapping out this horrible food colouring and it isn’t being absorbed into your body. Great bonus, I’m sure you’ll agree.
