It’s always cool when people come together to do something nice, but I’m not sure what exactly this kid is supposed to do with $40,000 when all he wants is to make a few friends so he can have a normal childhood like everyone else. Poor lad just wants someone to talk to! He seems to have perfectly fine social skills too so it’s just heartbreaking to think he’s being bullied and no one will hang out with him because he’s tubby and ginger (well, presumably that’s the reason).
I guess he could spend the $40k on joining some kind of sports club where he’s bound to meet a few kids and make some friends. I was actually cynical enough to think this whole thing was staged when I first watched it, but then I saw a separate video where he turns up to the same door half an hour earlier but backed out of ringing the bell. At the very least, becoming a viral star is bound to win him at least a couple friends. Well done, internet. Who says it can’t be a force for good in the world?
