‘Breaking Bad’ is one of the most iconic television series in recent memory – it’s even getting a Superbowl commercial this year almost a decade after its final episode aired – so I guess it’s kind of hard for Bryan Cranston to ever get away from the role of Walter White.

With that in mind, it probably wasn’t that good an idea for him to play a judge who starts bending the law after his son is involved in a hit and run in his new show ‘Your Honour’. The similarities with Walter White aren’t exactly subtle there are they?
Anyway, Showtime have decided to play up on the Breaking Bad reference even further by casting the man who played Hector Salamanca in a new episode and then having Bryan Cranston’s character give him a double take when they’re first introduced. You know, almost like he knew him from another life/TV show!
They even posted it on their social media accounts, meaning that this was a definite ploy by the network/casting people/writers to try and generate some interest in it. Take a look at the evidence below:
On the latest #YourHonor, Michael meets Carmine Conti for the first time… but his face rings a bell. #YourHonor pic.twitter.com/eIbqxNvDVL

Geez. They even had to include the ‘ringing a bell’ reference so it wasn’t even slightly subtle at all?
Some people might really like this ‘throwback’ to ‘Breaking Bad’ but to me it just reeks of how desperate the show is to try and get some viewers because nobody is watching it so they’ll try anything to reel the viewers back in. Not impressed. And not gonna tune in either I don’t think.
For more of the same, check out this dumb analogy about how Mike from ‘Breaking Bad’ only exists due to ‘How I Met Your Mother’. Told by Bob Odenkirk himself no less.
