We were rocked earlier this week with the news that there was a Breaking Bad movie in the works and that it was due to start production in just a few weeks.

Despite the fact that the news was confirmed by series creator Vince Gilligan, many people were actually scpeticla until they saw something from the horse’s mouth, so obviously someone was going to bring it up with Bryan Cranston fairly shortly. That person was Dan Patrick on The Dan Patrick Show yesterday and here’s what Cranston had to say about it all:
Yes. There appears to be a movie version of Breaking Bad, but I honestly have not even read the script.
I have not gotten the script, I have not read the script, and so there’s questions of whether or not we would even see Walter White in this movie.
If Vince Gilligan asked me to do it, sure, absolutely yeah.
He’s a genius, and it’s a great story and there’s a lot of people who felt they wanted to see some kind of completion to some of these storylines that were left open.
This idea, from what I’m told, gets into a couple of the characters who were not completed as far as their journey.
So I guess it’s not beyond the realms of possibility that he could be appearing in it as Walter wasn’t quite dead at the end of the show, but it seems more likely that the movie would focus on Jesse Pinkman’s escape from the compound. Indeed, this is what has been reported by SlashFilm so it looks like it could be on the cards. With production due to begin in Albuquerque this month, it probably won’t be long until we hear more about this.
