The 14 year old girl reported to police after the incident at Pikesville Middle School, Maryland, saying the kiss which occurred during school hours was against her will.
The boy was dared to kiss her by other classmates involved in the game.
Police have confirmed the boy is facing a second-degree assault charge as a juvenile, and added that disciplinary actions related to suspension or expulsion is up to the school.
So this is a bit of a tricky one, in that obviously we don’t know exactly how the situation played out. Truth or Date is an important game kids play when they’re at an age readying themselves to get romantic with each other, so things are bound to get awkward and uncomfortable.
At the end of the day though, the kiss was unwanted so it shouldn’t have happened. Surely an assault charge is a little bit excessive, all things considered? Tell the teacher and give the kid a detention or something. What are we going to call the police next time little Tommy comes through with a vicious slide tackle during PE?
Really makes me appreciate how school was for me back in the day.
