There’s a war in Ukraine, children starving across the globe, a cost of living crisis in full effect, but none of that compares to Bob Geldof repeatedly misgendering Sam Smith on This Morning.
The worst part? Phil & Holly didn’t correct him even once. Oh the humanity!
A number of people have expressed their disappointment in Geldof online, with one writing: “Not Bob Geldof repeatedly misgendering Sam Smith on live telly and the evil Holly and Phil not correcting him.”
Another said it ‘made them mad’, and another asked why ‘Holly and Phil didn’t tell Bob’ that he was misgendering the singer.
In fairness to 71-year-old Bob, Sam was still using he/him pronouns when this story took place, so maybe he’s fully aware he’s misgendering him but just keeping true to that period in time? It’s not like he would ever do anything so cruel and heinous as intentionally misgender Sam Smith, surely. I don’t know about you but I’m going to let Bob off the hook on this one.
