Blue Singer Lee Ryan ‘Assaulted By Passenger’ On Flight To Turkey After Putting His Feet Up On Seats

All Rise for the world’s #1 plane passenger Lee Ryan.

After getting into trouble earlier this year for telling a black flight attendan ‘I want your chocolate children,’, the Blue frontman has managed to put his foot in it again (literally this time) 30,000 feet up in the sky.

According to The Independent, Lee was assaulted during the flight from Georgia to Istanbul after he “put his feet” on a seat, which offended another passenger on board the Turkish Airlines flight.

Lee, 40, sustained an injury to his leg after the passenger “pushed him down a flight of stairs” after the plane landed, the band said in a statement.

The statement, posted to the band’s official Instagram account, read:

“While on a flight from Georgia to Istanbul, Turkey, with Turkish Airlines on Saturday 8 July 2023, Lee Ryan was physically assaulted by a male passenger.

Lee and the rest of the band defended him from the attack, which continued after the plane had landed when the passenger pushed Lee down a flight of stairs causing an injury to his leg.

Both parties were spoken to by the police in Turkey and to which Lee voluntarily gave a victim statement supported by the band.

Lee was not at any point arrested, detained or charged with any offence and after giving his statement, was free to continue his journey.

The assault occurred after Lee had put his feet on the seat which was considered culturally insensitive and for which Lee has apologised for any unknowing offence caused.”

It’s sad, so sad. It’s a sad, sad situation. You’d think the guy might want to avoid air travel at this point but at least he wasn’t completely to blame on this one. Obviously it’s a bit gross putting your feet up on the seats (especially so in Turkey, apparently), but I’m not sure it warrants being launched down a flight of stairs. Although, knowing Lee Ryan’s track record, he was probably trolling his assailant to oblivion before the assault took place.
