When you’re 85 years old and blind, it’s relatively easy to convince people you’ve got special powers that allow you to see into the future. Blind Bulgarian mystic Baba Vanga isn’t all talk though – she’s already nailed 2 out of the 6 predictions she outlined for 2022 before she died.

As per by the NY Post, Vanga predicted that large cities would be struck by water shortages in 2022 because of drought. Sure enough, Portugal and Italy have restricted water usage for their respective populations, with the latter expected to go through its worst drought since the 1950s.

The clairvoyant also claimed there would be more earthquakes and tsunamis — with “intense bouts of flood” in Australia and parts of Asia. Indeed, heavy rainfall and flooding have wreaked havoc on Australia’s East Coast on and off for much of the year.

Baba Vanga’s remaining 4 predictions were as follows: a virtual reality takeover (bit vague but OK), a pandemic (!) discovered in Siberia caused by a frozen virus that will be released through climate change, an alien invasion on Earth with the arrival of an asteroid, and famine in India due to locusts attacking crops.

Well I don’t know about you but all 4 of those sound fairly feasible? I mean as far as a virtual reality takeover, we’re practically already there. Another pandemic would be the least surprising thing in the world at this point (shocking that she didn’t predict COVID). And as far as alien invasions go – is there a better time for that to go down than in 2022? Not to mention her two other predictions which – if we ignore the fact that floods, water shortages, famine and drought are things that happen every year – have already come to pass.

– Global hunger will be eradicated between 2025 – 2028.

– China will overtake the US as global superpower.

– Polar ice caps will melt from 2033 to around 2045 and ocean levels will rise around this time.

– Doctors will be able to cure any disease with cloning technology.

– From around 2072, a classless Communist society will thrive in hand with nature.

– A colony on Mars will enable the planet to become a nuclear power, and demand independence from Earth from around 2170 to 2256.

– The universe will end in 5079.

Welp, looks like we have lots to look forward to. Baba Vanga has a whole load of followers who claim she predicted 9/11, the rise of ISIS, the 2004 tsunami, Brexit, and that a black man would become US President. Vanga actually died in 1996 — over 25 years ago — but it’s said she predicted all those things before she passed.

Does Baba Vanga have special future-telling abilities? Is she full of crap? Is a broken clock correct twice a day? Guess we’ll have to wait and see.
