It’s been almost FOUR years since Season 5 of Black Mirror dropped in June 2019, and though we’ve always known that Season 6 was in development there was never any word as to how long we’d have to wait for it.
Well it looks as though it could be arriving on Netflix imminently after the Black Mirror Twitter account sent out its first Tweet in 4 years, asking the following:
what have we missed?

Oh just a global pandemic, economic collapse, the death of the Queen, the rise of Chat GPT, etc, etc. In fact it seemed like technology and society had become too insane to satirise, but Charlie Brooker and co have cooked something up nonetheless.
What we do know about Season 6 so far is that there will be more episodes than Season 5 (well, you’d hope so – S5 was three episodes). Variety also says season 6 will be ‘more cinematic in scope, with each instalment being treated as an individual film.’ Which is basically keeping in line with how the episodes in each season have been running thus far.
We also have news on some of the new cast members that have signed up for Season 6, Zazie Beetz, Paapa Essiedu, Josh Hartnett, Aaron Paul, Kate Mara, Danny Ramirez, Clara Rugaard, Auden Thornton and Anjana Vasan. You may recognise some of those names or faces below…
It seems guaranteed that Black Mirror Season 6 is arriving at some point in 2023. Let’s hope we don’t have to wait too long for a release date. Can’t wait.
